| 2010 - 2011Camaro Custom Z/38
Conversions |
| RadAir has developed a unique performance conversion called
the Z/38. The Camaro Z/28 models of previous generations have
always signified the top of the line performance Camaro. While
GM contemplates producing its next generation Camaro Z/28,
RadAir has developed the next generation Camaro Z/28 which
RadAir designates the Z/38. No matter what performance standard
GM can put into a production car, the cutting edge conversion
shops can come up with a sharper and quicker version of the car. |
|
|

Camaro Z/38 Conversion # 002 Inferno Orange
with light orange striping and Special Edition airbrush art. |
Our goal with the RadAir Z/38 is to take the
Camaro further in looks and performance than our competitors.
Our Z/38 conversions strive to increase all aspects of the
Camaros performance and recreate that vintage muscle car
look through the use of custom interiors, exciting paint
schemes, and vintage looking accessories. |
| Generally, our Z/38 conversions will address
the overall performance of the factory Camaro by budgeting for a
compatible set of improvements to the engine, drive train,
suspension, and brakes. Along with the performance improvements,
we also include a set of balanced improvements in the looks of
the Camaro primarily by adding real custom colored painted
racing stripes; unique logos and artwork in paint; and interior
improvements such as custom painted door and dash panels, unique
seat tailoring, and embroidered logos and artwork. |

Custom painted steering wheel, dash, & door
panels. Also shows Hurst Short Throw shifter with white knob &
custom shift boot. |
|
|
|
|
| Most of our Z/38 conversions are done one customer at a
time. If the customer does not already own a Camaro, we will
help locate one through one of our participating dealers close
to our shop. We then work with our customers budgets, which
typically are between $6000.00 and $30,000.00, to design the
Z/38 conversion that best suits the customers needs and desires.
The engine performance packages would normally run between 450
to 770 HP, but can go as high as 1000 HP. Depending on the
engine packages chosen, it is recommended that the driveline,
suspension and brakes be improved appropriately to handle the
increase power and speed. |

500 + HP LS3 engine with custom painting &
detailing. |
We are not limited to using any one brand of
performance parts or components and will use any quality part
that is available. The appearance packages can range from mild
to wild. Here the customers personal taste is utilized to
give them a unique looking car that fits their personality. All
of our appearance packages include racing stripes that are
painted on, clear coated, sanded, and rubbed out so that the
seam between the stripe and the base color cannot be felt if you
run you hand over it |
|
|
As a guideline we have come up with a few suggested performance
and appearance packages to help our customers get a better idea what
kind of improvements they can get for their budget. |

2011 Black Camaro Conversion #005 |
|
|
|
This Camaro started out as a 1SS car with the LS3 V8 engine and
6 speed manual transmission. The exterior color was black with no
vinyl racing stripes on the hood and trunk. The interior was a cloth
black interior with matching cloth door and dash accent panels. The
idea behind this conversion was to take a Black Camaro (which
already looks mean) and enhance it so that the car looks even
tougher. We started by taking off the stick-on Camaro , RS, and
bowtie emblems, and replacing them with our painted on RadAir
logo's. The paint we chose was a dark gray metallic that at certain
times almost blended into the car giving it an all black look. At
certain angles and in the sunlight the striping and logo's explode
off the car, letting everyone know that this is a one of a kind car.
The dark gray powder coated factory rims, Extreme Dimension's rear
spoiler, spring lowering kit, and black front bowtie all complete
the "look" and accomplished our goal of a very tough
looking muscle machine. |
|
|

Color scheme is black with dark gray racing stripes which results in
a
very subtle, clean looking Camaro. |

#005 showing enhanced lower stance created by the Eibach spring
kit. |

metallic gray racing stripes, bowties, and Rad Z 38 front fender

Rotors". |
|
| Close up stack exhaust that is being
replaced with Billy Bart sport exhaust. Note: 3" crossbar
pipes. This exhaust system resulted in an approx. 20 HP gain at
the rear wheels. |
|
 |
| Front
fenders removed for painting and new clear coat. |
|
Stack cloth interior replaced with custom
simulated leather with black carbon fiber like seat insert.
Rad Z/38 embroidered on front seat head rests. |
Door and dash cloth
accents replaced with
black carbon fiber accents. |
|
Hurst short throw
shifter with special black Hurst shift knob
and custom black carbon fiber shift boot. |
|
| Rad Z/38 painted engine cover. |
|
|
The performance part of the conversion consisted of the
following upgrades: |
|
|
|
| Billy Boat Sport cat-back exhaust |
| Eibach lowering performance springs |
| Slotted and "Frozen" rotors |
| Hawk HPS brake pads |
| Hurst short throw shifter |
| Skip shift eliminator |
|
|
|
|
|
|
The Billy Boat exhaust system added 20 hp at the rear wheels
putting the flywheel HP of this conversion at approximately 450HP.
The spring modification lowered the car 1" giving it greater
road stability while the Hawk brake pads and slotted rotors greatly
increased the braking capabilities. The short throw shifter and skip
shift eliminator really make the shifting smooth. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The exterior and interior appearance package included the
following: |
|
| Graphite gray metallic hood and trunk racing stripes |
| Twin Chevy Bowties on Hood racing stripes |
| Camaro painted lettering in Bowties |

| Black front bowtie |
